How is quickGreen 2 licensed?
quickGreen 2 is licensed per computer, tied to an organisation. Each computer which has quickGreen 2 installed requires a quickGreen 2 licence. Licences are based on an annual subscription and organisations purchasing multiple licences will receive significant discounts. If you prefer to purchase quickGreen2 as a perpetual licence, please enquire.
My organisation owns four quickGreen 2 licences. Does this mean we can install the software on all our PCs as long as only four are using the software at once?
No, quickGreen 2 is licensed per permanent standalone locally-installed computer. Each computer which has quickGreen 2 installed requires a quickGreen 2 licence, not merely the number which are being used at any one time.
Licences can be permanently moved between computers, but this is only permitted for infrequent events such as an employee leaving or their role changing. Licences cannot be frequently moved between computers to give the effect of a floating licence.
What exactly is Product Activation and why is it necessary?
Product activation is a mechanism which ensures only correctly licensed copies of our software can be installed and used. For example it prevents a single licence being used to install software onto several PC in contravention of the licence conditions. The system has been developed with a strong focus of making it as transparent and hassle free as possible for legitimate users whilst preventing illegal copies of our software from being used.
What about products which don’t include Product Activation?
Only LinSat and JCT TrafficTools do not include Product Activation as they are both free of charge.
