John Nightingale MSc(Eng), CEng HonFIHE MCIHT

John is a Director of JCT, he joined JCT in January 2008 following 13 years of experience in both local government and traffic signal contracting. John’s introduction to the traffic engineering industry was as a contracting engineer giving him a particular insight in the practical aspects of installation and maintenance of signals.

Stuart Hanson BSc (Hons), EngTech

Stuart is a traffic signal design engineer who joined JCT in 2016 after a 12 year career as a secondary school teacher.

Stuart has provided LinSig training on both public courses and a number of university courses allowing him to introduce many students to traffic signal theory and junction modelling over his time at JCT.

Simon Swanston MSc, BEng, CEng FIHE

Simon began his career in traffic signals / junction modelling in 2005, following completion of a Masters in Polymer Engineering at Queen’s University. He worked directly with Barbara Chard at BCC Consultancy in Lincoln. 

Simon joined JCT Consultancy in 2008 and now heads up JCT’s Consultancy Services as an Associate Director. Simon is an expert Traffic Modeller with detailed knowledge of LinSig, ARCADY and PICADY.

Jackie Davies FIHE CEng MSc BSc

Jackie is an experienced engineer, currently working as a Senior Traffic Signals Engineer at Bath & North East Somerset Council. Prior to this, she ran the Traffic Control Service at Bristol City Council. 

Her tenure in local government continues to provide her with a broad range of experience across the ITS and UTC/SCOOT work areas.

Chris Kennet MIHE

Chris is Managing Director of the specialist traffic signal engineering consultancy Chris Kennett Consulting Limited. Before founding the company in 2020, Chris worked as a Senior Engineer for another consultant for six years, and before that worked for Cambridgeshire County Council for eleven years, rising to the post of Lead Engineer.

Chris has a broad knowledge of Traffic Signal Engineering, including Design work, Modelling and MOVA. Chris has worked with MOVA extensively since 2005 and has continued this with recent work linking with the latest facilities in MOVA. Through his company, he continues to provide this same wide range of services, including training with focus on practical use and applications.

Alistair Gollop FIHE MIET

Alistair has over 30 years in-depth experience, resulting in an extensive specialist knowledge of traffic systems. His current roles include being Technical Advisory Executive at The Alistair Gollop ITS & Traffic Signal Consultancy, Founder of the ITS Now initiative & Publisher of ITS Edge Magazine.

As a technology specialist, Alistair has particular experience in preliminary equipment assessments, due diligence reports, field trials and integration into traffic systems. With a detailed knowledge of standards and statutory requirements.

Peter Simm MCiLT Dip

Peter has been involved in the public sector since 1990 and was the first officer to let a GPRS contract in the UK. Peter joined the private sector in 2010 and has worked with BSI Groups for CEN Smart Cities and the Environment as well as advising the DfT on the Connected Vehicle Programme, on pan European data transmission.  

He is an expert in mobile communications and SIMS to local authorities and other actors throughout the UK offering assistance and training as part of his dedicated service.

JCT are always looking for talented individuals who are specialists in Traffic Signals and related fields. We provide booking, printing, shipping and venue services and you provide the training material and your expertise. You will work as an independent, invoicing us for your services and you will need at least Professional Indemnity Insurance and may need Public Liability Insurance as well.  If you have an idea for a new course and would like to explore options just get in touch and lets start a conversation.
